A New Jersey man has died after falling from a bridge in Bridgewater, police said Sunday.
Bridgewater police Chief Stephen Kestner told The Associated Press that the incident happened around 5:30 p.m.
Sunday when a woman fell off a bridge on the bridge, which spans the Hudson River, according to The Burlington Free Press.
A neighbor told police that a woman was seen “lying on the ground,” and when the woman was taken to a local hospital, she died, the police chief said.
Kestner said the man’s name has not been released.
The woman was not injured.
The bridge was closed to traffic and reopened about an hour later, he said.
The man’s death is under investigation.
